Accessibility statement
Last updated: 30 May 2026
This statement applies to bygild.com and the pages within it. It is prepared by Khalid Mohamed, sole trader, operating as bygild.
Our commitment
We are committed to making bygild.com accessible to as many people as possible, including those with disabilities. Our target standard is WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
Every page is hand-coded against these principles:
- Semantic HTML: correct use of headings, landmarks, and element types so screen readers can navigate the content meaningfully
- Keyboard navigation: all interactive elements (links, buttons, forms) are reachable and operable using a keyboard alone
- Colour contrast that meets or exceeds WCAG 2.1 AA (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
- ARIA labels where native HTML semantics are not sufficient
- Skip-link navigation at the top of every public page
- Descriptive alt text on informative images
- No reliance on colour alone to convey information
- No content that flashes more than three times per second
- Reduced-motion media queries that disable animations for users who prefer them
Testing
Pages are tested against WCAG 2.1 Level AA using Google Chrome Lighthouse automated audits and manual keyboard navigation testing. Every public-facing page is reviewed after any significant change.
Automated testing using Lighthouse covers roughly 30 to 40 percent of WCAG 2.1 success criteria. A formal independent accessibility audit has not been conducted at this stage; one is planned ahead of full product launch.
Known limitations
We are not aware of any significant accessibility barriers on bygild.com at the time this statement was prepared. The site will be re-audited at each significant content change.
