We started Vertex Tutors because too many students in East London were getting tutors who taught everything to nobody in particular. We do one thing and we do it well.

Why small groups change everything.

One-to-one tuition is expensive and can create dependence. Large group tuition means nobody gets answered. We settled on four as the number where every student gets spoken to in every session, and where group discussion actually improves understanding.

Our tutors teach their subject only. A GCSE Biology tutor at Vertex has a biology degree and teaches nothing else. This means they know exactly which questions come up, how examiners mark, and what trips students up most often.

We started in Stratford because that's where we knew there was a gap. Not enough good tuition, at honest prices, for the families who needed it. That's still what we're doing.
